Syngonium White Butterfly Variegated, scientifically known as Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’, is a beautiful tropical houseplant admired for its soft white, cream, and green variegated foliage. Its elegant arrowhead-shaped leaves and fresh, bright appearance make it a charming choice for collectors, indoor plant lovers, and anyone looking for an easy-care variegated plant with a clean tropical look.

Plant Characteristics

This variegated Syngonium features smooth, arrow-shaped leaves with a delicate mix of pale green, creamy white, and soft green margins. Younger leaves often appear lighter and more compact, while mature growth may develop larger, more defined arrowhead foliage with stronger contrast. The plant has a climbing to trailing growth habit and can be grown in a pot, hanging basket, or trained on a moss pole for a fuller, more mature display. At maturity, Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’ can develop into a lush, elegant tropical plant with layered foliage and naturally varied variegation.

Care Guide

Place Syngonium White Butterfly Variegated in bright, indirect light to maintain healthy growth and attractive leaf color. Water when the top layer of the potting mix begins to dry, keeping the soil lightly moist but never soggy. This plant enjoys moderate to high humidity and warm indoor temperatures between 65–85°F. Use a well-draining, airy soil mix with ingredients such as perlite, coco chips, orchid bark, and peat or coco coir to support strong root development.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors love this Syngonium for its graceful white-and-green variegation, easy-care nature, and versatile growth habit. It is a timeless tropical houseplant that brings a bright, clean, and collectible look to any indoor plant collection.
