Product Overview

Hoya lacunosa ‘Asami Wonosobo’ (Hoya lacunosa Blume) is a distinctive collectible Hoya admired for its compact foliage, elegant variegation, and cascading tropical growth. Its small leaves feature contrasting green and creamy tones, creating a beautifully detailed appearance that stands out in hanging baskets, shelves, or indoor plant displays.

Plant Characteristics

This variegated Hoya produces small, oval-to-lance-shaped leaves with a slightly thick, smooth texture. The foliage typically displays green centers with creamy or pale margins, while brighter growing conditions may encourage subtle pink tones on newer growth.

Hoya lacunosa ‘Asami Wonosobo’ has a trailing and climbing growth habit. Its flexible vines can cascade naturally from a hanging pot or be trained onto a small trellis. Under favorable conditions, mature vines may grow several feet long and can eventually produce clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers.

Care Guide

Place this collectible Hoya in bright, indirect light to maintain healthy growth and attractive variegation. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh afternoon sunlight, which may damage the leaves.

Water thoroughly when the upper layer of the growing medium is nearly dry. Do not allow the roots to remain constantly wet. Maintain moderate to high humidity, preferably around 60–80%, while providing good air circulation.

Ideal temperatures range from 65–85°F. Protect the plant from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F. Use a loose, well-draining Hoya mix containing orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and a small amount of moisture-retentive material. This plant has a moderate care level.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors appreciate Hoya lacunosa ‘Asami Wonosobo’ for its delicate variegated foliage, compact leaves, and graceful trailing growth. Its potential to produce fragrant flowers adds another desirable feature to this unusual indoor tropical plant.
