Plant Characteristics

This rare Begonia features attractive textured leaves with a soft, slightly rippled surface and an elegant tropical shape. The foliage may show a mix of green, yellow-gold, cream, or aurea variegation, creating a unique contrast on every leaf. Its growth habit is generally compact and clumping, making it suitable for small pots, plant cabinets, and curated collector shelves. As it matures, Begonia aurea variegated Sp Borneo can develop fuller foliage with naturally varied leaf size, color intensity, and variegation pattern.

Care Guide

Grow this Begonia in bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and attractive variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which may damage the delicate leaves. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy, allowing the top layer to slightly dry between watering. This tropical Begonia prefers high humidity, ideally above 60%, and warm temperatures between 65–85°F. Use a well-draining, airy potting mix with components such as perlite, coco chips, fine orchid bark, and sphagnum moss to help protect the roots from excess moisture.
