Anthurium Veitchii Variegated

Anthurium Veitchii Variegated (Anthurium veitchii) is a rare collector’s aroid admired for its long, deeply ribbed foliage and elegant variegated patterning. Often known as the “King Anthurium,” this tropical plant brings a dramatic, architectural look to any rare plant collection, especially for collectors seeking unique Anthurium varieties with standout leaf texture and coloration.

Plant Characteristics

This variegated Anthurium features elongated, pendant-style leaves with a strong corrugated texture that becomes more pronounced as the plant matures. The foliage may display natural variegation in soft cream, mint, yellow, or lighter green tones, giving each plant a one-of-a-kind appearance. Anthurium veitchii has an upright to cascading growth habit, and mature specimens can develop impressively long leaves under ideal growing conditions. As a rare tropical aroid, it is best suited for collectors who appreciate slow-growing, statement foliage plants.

Care Guide

Grow Anthurium Veitchii Variegated in bright, indirect light to support healthy foliage and stable variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which may damage the leaves. Water when the top layer of the potting mix begins to dry, keeping the roots lightly moist but never soggy. This plant prefers high humidity, ideally 60% or above, and warm temperatures between 65–85°F. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and a small amount of moisture-retentive material.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors love Anthurium Veitchii Variegated for its rare combination of regal leaf structure, dramatic ribbing, and unpredictable variegation. Each plant develops its own unique character, making it a highly desirable addition to premium Anthurium and rare aroid collections.
