Monstera White Lava

Monstera White Lava, commonly listed as Monstera deliciosa ‘White Lava’, is a rare collector’s Monstera admired for its dramatic white variegation and bold tropical presence. Its creamy white to marbled variegated leaves create a striking contrast against deep green foliage, making it a standout choice for serious aroid collectors and premium indoor plant displays.

Plant Characteristics

This Monstera features thick, glossy leaves with a leathery texture and unique white variegation that may appear as sectoral patches, marbling, or splash patterns. As the plant matures, it can develop larger leaves with the iconic Monstera fenestrations under the right growing conditions. It has a climbing growth habit and benefits from a moss pole or support to encourage larger, stronger foliage.

Care Guide

Provide bright, indirect light to help maintain strong variegation while avoiding harsh direct sun that may burn the white portions of the leaves. Water when the top layer of the soil begins to dry, and use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and quality potting media. Monstera White Lava prefers warm temperatures, good airflow, and moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60% or higher.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors love Monstera White Lava for its rare, high-contrast variegation and the excitement of watching each new leaf reveal a different pattern. It is a premium statement plant for anyone building a rare Monstera or variegated aroid collection.
