Overview

Hoya pubicalyx ‘Silver Ghost’ is a striking collectible Hoya known for its dramatic silver-splashed foliage and elegant trailing growth. This tropical vining plant features long, narrow green leaves heavily marked with silvery speckling, creating a shimmering “ghosted” appearance that makes it highly desirable for Hoya collectors, rare plant enthusiasts, and indoor plant lovers.

Plant Characteristics

Hoya pubicalyx ‘Silver Ghost’ has firm, slightly succulent leaves with a smooth texture and elongated shape. Its foliage often displays intense silver splash patterns that can vary from leaf to leaf, giving each plant a unique look. As a climbing or trailing epiphytic plant, it grows well on a trellis, hanging basket, or moss pole. With proper care and maturity, Hoya pubicalyx may produce clusters of star-shaped, fragrant flowers.

Care Guide

Place this Hoya in bright, indirect light to support strong growth and attractive silver leaf markings. Allow the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings, as Hoyas prefer not to stay constantly wet. Maintain moderate to high humidity, ideally above 60%, and keep temperatures between 65–85°F. Use a chunky, well-draining soil mix with orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, or similar airy components to support healthy roots.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors love Hoya pubicalyx ‘Silver Ghost’ for its bold silver-splash foliage, easy-care nature, and strong ornamental presence. It is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a rare-looking, low-maintenance tropical vine to an indoor plant collection.
